Bah-bah-bah-bah, babababababa!

Any kid that grew up in St Louis in the 70’s/80’s knows this little jingle. It’s what you always heard before the movie started, as 99.9% of the movie theaters were from the Wehrenberg Theaters chain. After watching a movie intermission vid on Jeff’s blog, it inspired me to hunt down the jingle and I found it. It’s so cheesy & over the top, but totally takes me back to being a kid. Seems like yesterday I was laying on the hood of our black Camaro at the Northland Drive-In, eating Pop Rocks with my little brother when both the temp & humidity were both at 98.

Of course, the movie on the OTHER screen was always more entertaining. Especially when you pretended that the voices you heard on your speaker were the dialog to that screen. THAT was entertainment!

And after the Camaro it was the red Chevy Citation where I’d open the hatch for you and your brother to lay in the back with your pillows. Before the Drive In we’d go to Glaser Drug Store to get candy and soda.

What a shame they’ve torn down the North Twin Drive In to put in a subdivision 😦
